Mary King’s Ghost Fest 2010 will visit the Scottish Mining Musuem on Friday 19 March from 9pm-3am. Visitors will experience the scare factor as they spend the evening in the Lady Victoria Colliery at Newton Grange.

Following an hour long ghost tour of the colliery with guide and Victorian coal sorter Aggie McGhee, individuals will join the paranormal team to delve into the darkest depths of the only surviving Victorian Colliery in Europe.  Guests will take part in paranormal experiments, use night vision equipment, EVP and EMF equipment and much more!
Gillian Rankin, Scottish Mining Museum’s Marketing Officer said: “The Scottish Mining Museum is steeped in history and we often have people tell us that they feel on edge and nervy at the Colliery, at night time it can be a very daunting place. This event is sure to be great fun, however, it is defintely not for the faint hearted!”
Now into its sixth year, the award-winning Mary King’s Ghost Fest, which is hosting more than 31 events from Thursday 18 - Tuesday 23 March 2010, is likely to attract both the true believer and sceptical cynic.
Lisa Robshaw, Mary King’s Ghost Fest Organiser and Marketing Manager at The Real Mary King’s Close visitor attraction stated; “I’m not sure if it’s the promise of darker, and therefore creepier, nights now we have moved the event to March, but it’s great to see so many of the city’s venues throwing open their doors for this event and The Scottish Mining Museum is a perfect location.”
Tickets for Ghost Fest at The Scottish Mining Museum are £25 and are available online at www.scottishminingmuseum.com or call 0131 663 7519.
